Kipper’s Journey to His Forever Home
Meet Kipper!
This sweet Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler mix had a rough start in life, but has now found his perfect home.
Kipper was discovered abandoned by the side of a busy highway along with a litter of puppies, the K-litter. Despite such a heartbreaking beginning, Kipper never let it dim his spirit. He always greeted our staff and volunteers with a big smile and endless love.
In August, Kipper’s luck changed when he was adopted into a loving family, and he has thrived ever since! His new parents share that he fit right in from day one, as if he had always been part of their lives. He’s house-trained, knows his basic commands like sit and come, and is wonderfully affectionate.
Kipper has enjoyed countless long walks along the canal and equestrian trails and even roams off-leash thanks to his excellent behavior. He’s attended polo matches, met a polo pony named Cocolat (even sharing a sweet nose-to-nose moment), and spends his days exploring the house before snuggling up on his parents’ bed each night.
Here’s what Kipper’s family had to say about their adoption experience with HART:
"In my search for my first rescue pet, a family member from Accident, Maryland, recommended HART for Animals. After some disappointing experiences with other rescue centers, I found HART to be responsive and professional, addressing all my questions and concerns. The rescue dog I adopted, Kipper, was in excellent health, a fact confirmed by my veterinarian of 15 years, who praised Kipper as one of the healthiest rescues they had seen in a long time. The adoption process was well-organized and efficient, making the experience even more enjoyable. I feel fortunate to have discovered such a caring and dedicated organization at the perfect moment."
Kipper’s family later learned that he is actually an Australian Kelpie, and they couldn’t be more grateful for their new, cherished companion.
Stories like Kipper’s show how adoption changes not only a pet’s life, but a family’s too. These happy endings are only possible because of your support.
