HART’S Foster Program
What does it mean to foster dogs?
To foster dogs means to provide temporary care and shelter for dogs in need until they can be adopted into permanent homes. Fostering plays a crucial role in helping homeless dogs by giving them a safe and loving environment while they await adoption.
Dog fosters are responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of the Dogs in their care, some of these responsibilities include:
Temporary care: Fostering involves taking a dog into your home for a specific period of time. The duration can vary depending on the organization's needs or the dog's situation, ranging from a few days to several weeks or months.
Shelter and basic needs: As a foster parent, you provide a suitable living space for the dog, including food, water, a comfortable bed, and any necessary medications. HART for Animals will cover the expenses associated with the dog's care.
Medical care: Foster caregivers must ensure that the dogs receive appropriate medical care, including vaccinations, deworming, and treatment for any illnesses or injuries. These expenses will be covered by HART for Animals.
Cleanliness: Foster caregivers must maintain a clean and sanitary living environment for the kittens.
Socialization and training: Fostering also involves helping the dog adapt to a home environment and providing socialization opportunities. This may include introducing them to other animals, teaching basic commands, and exposing them to various situations to help them become more comfortable and well-rounded.
What does HART provide to the DOG fosters?
