Meet Sasha: A Parvo Survivor Turned Superhero!
Two years ago, Sasha arrived at HART with her mom and littermates—every one of them battling a serious case of parvovirus. Parvo is a highly contagious and potentially deadly virus, but thanks to a lifesaving blood donation from another survivor named Maggie, these pups had a fighting chance. Maggie, who had beaten parvo years earlier with treatment at HART, carried antibodies that helped Sasha and her family recover.

Treatment for parvo is intense and costly, but because of generous donations from supporters like you—and the incredible care from our Bredel Clinic team—Sasha and her family made a full recovery. And that’s not all: Sasha found her forever home with one of our amazing Veterinary Assistants, Kerri!
Today, Sasha is happy, healthy, and giving back. She's now a superhero in her own right—donating blood to help other pups fighting parvo. So far, Sasha has donated twice, providing the same critical antibodies that once saved her life.

Prevention is key!
Parvo is dangerous, but it's also preventable through vaccination. Learn more about symptoms, prevention tips, and why vaccination matters by checking out our blog all about parvo here.
