Adoption Story: Marlee

Marlee, an adorable young mixed-breed sweetheart, found her forever home through HART in April, and she couldn’t be happier!

Now known as Kokomi, she’s truly settled in beautifully, and her family feels so fortunate to have her as part of their lives.

Kokomi has made friends with her new siblings, a pair of cats, Tiger and CatLick, who quickly became her lounging buddies, and a turtle named Venus Jewel, who enjoys watching Kokomi play fetch from the safety of her basking area. She also has a dog sister, Thiea, who is 10 years old. Though no longer a puppy, Thiea has loved having another dog around the house again to spend her days with! 

Kokomi is an incredible travel companion and hiking partner. She goes everywhere with her new mom and has especially enjoyed adventures at Swallow Falls. While she’s not much of a water pup, she recently dipped her paws in for the first time, making her mom very proud! She loves hiking, playing fetch, and brightening every day for her family.

One of her family’s favorite things? Kokomi reminds them when it’s bedtime! She sleeps on the bed and, if her mom isn’t in bed at the usual time, she takes herself to bed, then comes back every few minutes to say, “Mom… it’s time to sleep!”

Her family shared that it feels like Kokomi has been part of their lives forever, and they are so grateful she ended up with them.
