Tommy’s Journey to Forever

Tommy was one of our long-term residents here at HART, a sweet German Shepherd and Pitbull mix who quickly stole the hearts of our staff and volunteers. After more than five months in our care, his happily-ever-after finally came true this past May when he met his forever family!

It was love at first sight! Just look at the smiles in his adoption photo, it was clear this was a perfect match from the start. As a staff favorite, we were all overjoyed to see him head home.

Today, Tommy has a new name and a brand-new life. Now called Scotch, his family tells us he has been “the light of their lives” since joining their home. They love spoiling him (and so does their extended family!) and describe him as the very best cuddler, full of endless love.

Scotch has even made a best friend, a Great Dane named Hercules who lives right next door! He’s also loving new adventures, like hikes at the Botanic Gardens in Morgantown, where he gets to meet plenty of new people and pups along the way.
