We’re excited to share an adoption update from one of our longtime residents, Yuma!

Yuma came to HART after being abandoned by her previous owner, but she never lost hope. She waited patiently for more than 100 days before the perfect match walked through our doors.

Her adopter had a lifetime of experience with Akitas and was searching for a new best friend. The moment he met Yuma, he knew she was the one. In March, Yuma officially found her forever home!

Recently, her adopter sent us a wonderful update on how she’s settling in. Now affectionately known as “Umi,” she seemed to know she was home from the very first car ride. She quickly adjusted to her new surroundings and made herself comfortable with her adopter by her side.

Umi loves spending time with her adopter and her human grandma, who showers her with love and attention. She’s been enjoying car rides, meeting new friends, exploring new places, and showing off her adventurous side on hikes.

She’s also become a regular at the groomer, where she enjoys blowouts that help showcase her beautiful coat, and she’s never looked better!

According to her adopter, Umi is truly part of the family and couldn’t be more loved.

We couldn’t be happier to see this deserving girl thriving in her forever home. Stories like Umi’s remind us why we do what we do and how life-changing adoption can be for homeless pets.
