Coraline’s Happily Ever After
You may remember Coraline’s story…
Coraline, a beautiful two-year-old Tortoiseshell cat, was found wandering as a stray and brought to our local animal shelter. She had developed an abscess, and when she arrived at HART, our Bredel Veterinary Clinic team immediately began treatment.
During her intake exam, our team discovered that Coraline had already been spayed, a clear sign that she had once belonged to someone. But as her treatment continued, we uncovered something heartbreaking: Coraline had been shot, leaving 17 pellets scattered throughout her body.
Our veterinary team removed as many of the pellets as possible during surgery, and Coraline recovered smoothly in our Cattery. After completing her recovery, she was adopted in November, and began the next chapter of her life with a loving family!
Recently, her adopters sent us some adorable photos and an update we couldn't wait to share!
They told us that Coraline has been doing wonderfully and settled into her new home as if she had always belonged there. Curious, playful, and affectionate, she has completely stolen their hearts.
Her family shared that one of the greatest joys has been watching her personality blossom more each day. She loves lounging in sunny spots, snuggling on the couch, keeping watch from her cat tree, and spending time playing. Her silly quirks keep everyone laughing, and she has brought so much happiness into their home.
To make her summer even more enjoyable, her adopters added a "catio" to their porch so she can safely soak up the sunshine, enjoy the fresh air, and watch the world go by. It's quickly become one of her favorite places to relax and explore.
They told us they truly adore her and can't imagine life without her!
We are so grateful to Coraline's wonderful adopters for opening their hearts and home to a cat who deserved a second chance. Stories like Coraline's remind us why we do what we do. After enduring hardship and uncertainty, she has found the love, comfort, and security every pet deserves.
