Become a Member of the Board of Directors
The HART Board of Directors is a volunteer board whose members are passionate about the welfare of animals and have the available time required to support the organization’s goals and objectives. Board members are nominated by existing members with voting taking place in November of each year. Board members serve a two-year term. Other qualifications include:
a. A concern for the welfare of animals;
b. The available time to carry out the oversight duties required to make decisions in the best interest of the organization;
c. Knowledge about, practical experience in, and active engagement in business, the law, local politics, marketing, fundraising, or management;
d. A community-minded approach to the different populations that make up Garrett County; and
e. Attendance at an orientation session and completion of the HART for Animals Level I training for volunteers.

Volunteer to Serve on a Committee
