We’ve got an adoption update filled with puppy love!

Erica, a sweet Hound mix puppy, was adopted in March, and she’s been living her very best life ever since in her forever home.

Erica came to HART at just five weeks old after being left overnight at our local shelter with no information. One of our dedicated Bredel Clinic team members stepped in to foster her, giving her the care and love she needed while she waited for her perfect match.

During her time with us, Erica was as sweet as they come, playful, affectionate, and full of puppy energy. Once she was old enough, it didn’t take long for her forever family to find her.

In March, she was adopted by a wonderful family who had previously welcomed another HART alum, Juliette, an Australian Cattle Dog mix adopted in February 2024.

Her family recently shared an update, and Erica, now named Daphne, is thriving!

Daphne has settled beautifully into her new home and quickly became best friends with her big sister Juliette. The two are inseparable! She’s also learning to coexist with her feline sibling and has already figured out how to respect his boundaries.

Like any puppy, Daphne is still working through teething (almost there!) and continuing her training. She’s doing great with her crate routine and has even learned how to ring a bell to go outside, which she thinks is pretty fun. This smart girl already knows “sit” and is now working on mastering “stay.”

One of Daphne’s favorite activities? Neighborhood walks. There’s so much to see, and she loves taking in every sight along the way.

She’s also quite the foodie and has been known to try sneaking past puppy barriers to sample Juliette’s meals whenever she gets the chance.

Her family shared that Daphne has been an incredible addition, and they’ve had so much fun welcoming her into their lives.

We couldn’t be happier to see Daphne thriving in the home she was meant for. Stories like hers are a powerful reminder of how adoption changes lives, both for pets and for the people who love them.
