A Forever Home Worth Waiting For: Rumple’s Story

Meet Rumple! Formerly known as Indie, this adorable Beagle boy was adopted from HART in December 2024. One of our longer-term residents, Rumple, spent more than four months waiting for his forever family, but thankfully, he didn’t have to look very far to find them!

Rumple had a difficult start before arriving at HART. He was found as a stray and was never reclaimed. When he first came to us, he was very nervous and severely underweight.

With plenty of love, patience, and TLC from our staff, Rumple slowly began to come out of his shell and gain the weight he desperately needed. After several months in our care, he found the forever home he had been dreaming of with one of our very own Animal Care Attendants, Chasiti!

Today, Rumple is thriving and living his absolute best life with his new family. He now has six furry siblings to keep him company, including three cats and three dogs! His adopter shared that he instantly became best friends with one of his canine sisters, Cambria, and the two have been inseparable ever since. According to Chasiti, Cambria is truly Rumple’s favorite thing in the world!

Rumple loves playing with toys of all kinds and has become a master at catching a ball. He’s also a huge fan of cuddle time with both humans and his feline siblings. He enjoys car rides and has even learned the routes to HART and the dog park!

His adopter says he is incredibly well-behaved and an all-around good boy! Since finding his forever home, Rumple has already enjoyed many exciting adventures, including camping trips with his family. He especially loved swimming in the river, sunbathing, and staying close to Cambria for extra confidence during their adventures together.

Most importantly, Rumple is now happy, healthy, and surrounded by love. When Chasiti adopted him, she promised he would never have to feel alone again, and thanks to his big family of furry siblings, he always has someone by his side.

Chasiti shared that Rumple has been the perfect addition to their pack and that she couldn’t have chosen a better best friend for Cambria.

Stories like Rumple’s are a beautiful reminder of the life-changing power of adoption. Every adoption gives an animal a second chance at love, happiness, and the family they deserve.
