Mopsie’s New Hope!

Mopsie, a 13-year-old Terrier mix, has a heart as big as her story. This resilient little lady came to HART after being found wandering alone in the middle of a snowstorm, cold, vulnerable, and desperately in need of help.

When she arrived, it was clear Mopsie had gone far too long without proper veterinary care. Our team immediately stepped in to give her the medical attention she so urgently needed.

Mopsie was suffering from a severe case of hookworms that required four rounds of treatment to fully clear. She also had a mass on her stomach that needed testing and surgical removal, thankfully, it was benign. On top of that, she required a much-needed dental procedure to restore her comfort and overall health.

Thanks to our Mocha’s Fund, Mopsie received over $900 in medical care, along with a safe, loving place to recover while she waited for her forever home.

And the best news of all, Mopsie found that home in February!

Now known as Hope, she has settled in beautifully into her new life. She quickly bonded with her new mom, and the two have become inseparable. Hope’s favorite spot in the house is her cozy bed, where she loves to stretch out and enjoy long, peaceful naps.

She’s also beginning to explore more of her new surroundings, venturing outside with more confidence! While she’s not a fan of the snow and cold weather, Hope is already looking forward to warmer spring and summer days ahead.

Hope has even met her new family members, including her adopter’s grandson and resident kitten, and she fit right in. She loves having a family to call her own!

Her adopter shared that they love Hope dearly and can’t imagine life without her.

Stories like Hope’s remind us of the importance of giving a second chance to a pet in need. We can’t do it alone though!

From life-saving surgeries to complex treatments such as amputations, eye removals, and other specialized procedures, this fund makes second chances possible. When animals require advanced care, they are evaluated and treated through our Bredel Veterinary Clinic.
