Terrific Tonka Finds Her Forever Home

Terrific Tonka, our lovable Mastiff mix with a heart as big as her paws, has officially found the forever family she’s been waiting for! After being found as a stray and never claimed, this sweet girl spent more than 130 days waiting for her second chance. Now, she’s finally home and surrounded by love.

These days, Tonka goes by Georgia, and she’s settling beautifully into her new life! She even has a furry sister, Jolene, a former HART adoptee (formerly Sara)! You can read Jolene’s story here. The two girls quickly became best friends, and Jolene loves curling up beside Georgia on her bed each night!

Georgia’s family recently received her DNA test results, and she turned out to be an adorable mix of 50% Mastiff, 49% Great Pyrenees, and 1% Rottweiler!

She’s also been doing wonderfully with her training and no longer jumps up to greet everyone with those extra-excited hellos. One of her favorite things is racing around the yard during zoomie time, followed by relaxing in the grass and soaking up the fresh air.

Her family shared that Georgia has really blossomed since being in a home. She’s calmed down so much and has adjusted incredibly well to life as an indoor pup.

Most importantly, they said she has completely filled a missing piece in their family, and they can’t imagine life without her.
